Hysterical, brilliant, original, amazingly talented cast, fresh, new, and you have a wonderful time. Avenue Q is the best new show to open this season with the best score and has so much potential to rack up the Tony's this year. Go SEE IT!

Although the show worked a bit better in it's off-b'way incarnation, it's still the freshest show to come to b'way in several seasons. walk - don't run. lucy t. awaits. Updated On: 3/21/04 at 08:37 PM

Loved it, enjoyed it. Would see it again. But I still think Wicked is better. Honestly, I don't think it belongs on Broadway. It really is, in my opinion, an off-broadway show, in terms of style and feel and aura and characters - but I love it anyway.

I don’t want to start a war but how can you say or determine what is for Broadway and what isn’t. If there was only one kind of show on Broadway (the big budget musical) how boring would that be. Then there would never be any Rent’s, or Urientown's. These shows often go on to win major awards b/c of their creativity and passionate creative teams and casts. You may feel that Wicked is a better show then Avenue Q but that doesn’t mean Avenue Q doesn’t belong b/c of its "style"- fresh, new and innovative, its "feel"- the feel of leaving the Golden satisfied, the feel of a million jokes a min and a great score or the feel of being blind sided by one of the most heartfelt ballads to hit Broadway in awhile. Or its "characters"- some of the most honest and original characters, that have been moving people on and off Broadway at every performance.
Avenue Q seems to fit right in and has been making a wonderful name for itself on Broadway since it landed in July.

It's one of the funniest shows ever to hit Broadway; however, I'm not a huge fan of the CD. I don't feel you get the true humor by just listening to the cd-- its all about those damn zanny puppets.

The best show of this season. It's brilliant in my opinion. It makes you laugh like no other show, it kinda shocks you like no other show, and then it can be very touching. It really is unique and fun and I recommend it to anyone with an open mind, who is not easily offended. Great music, and excellent cast. Definitley go.
