I have been wondering if the life of Matilda on Broadway would have been entirely different if the RSC had gone with a different co-producer. I there wouldn't have been a ton of backlash against it at the Tonys and it might've had a lower operating cost(can someone tell me how matildas cost got so high? I know there was an article out there saying it was only 600,000 a week and now people are saying 800,000)?
Funny you should mention it, Thomas Kitt and Brian Yorkey are working on a new musical that explores both of those paths in a new show entitled Grow/Up.

Oh wow. That was a great bake.
Thoughts are that this beautiful show shouldn't be coming off of Broadway &&& that I can't imagine walking down shubert alley & not seeing the matilda marquee ![]()

I could just imagine them using the song "when I grow up"

Good thing you pointed out that "Grow/Up" was a show pull and not a personal attack, before the mods suspend me. ![]()
