Thousands of BoM tickets on StubHub

WOW... a friend was lamenting how he wished he could get Book of Mormon tickets so I suggested StubHub. WOW - there are thousands of tickets being sold for BoM on there!

I know it is free enterprise but I feel bad that so many speculators are out there hoping to make money when others really want to genuinely see the show. Yes, also know everyone had the opportunity to buy them...first come first serve.

Only way something like this might stop happening is if there wasn't such a demand. Just think it is crazy when I saw how many are listed. Too ironic to think that there are that many performances where 100...200...and even 300 people cannot attend. Obviously purchased for sole purpose of making money.

StubHub is a reseller for companies and regular people who are trying to sell their tickets. They create those mark-up prices to make a profit. StubHub does not own one single ticket in their entire inventory. Also, the prices they use reflects the premium in price that those others are asking for their tickets.

I hope this makes sense as many people assume StubHub creates those crazy prices for the tickets they sale/offer. They actually don't.

Thanks for the clarification. I actually was aware that the prices are based upon what the owner of each ticket hopes to sell it for and that StubHub doesn't own any of them.

I just thought it both crazy (that there are so many on there) and sad (that so many tickets are so expensive when genuine fans hope to go but cannot buy them for closer to original price).
