Threepenny - No gun shots, but a lot of foul language, simulated sex, sexual innuendo, and penile exposure.

Here's my question: Will you NOT go to a show that has gun shots, or do you just want to be warned?

If the former is true, you should avoid ever seeing "Annie Get Your Gun". There was over fifty gun shots in it.

I think I understand what Jon means. For years I have loved theater, but have freaked out about on stage gun shots, loud pyros etc. (I think the noise startles me too much.)Anywho, I think he probably just is concerned and maybe interested in knowing before he sees any of the shows. I may be wrong, but this is what I suspect. Also, I would imagine (although I haven't seen it) that Tarzan must have at least one gun shot. Isn't Clayton the villain supposed to be a poacher. I may be wrong.

Keeping my above post in mind, you can probably understand how ironic it was when I saw Jersey Boys and during the gun shot scene, the acor pulled out the gun and fired it to have nothing happen. Then he realized it had to be cocked and then it worked. Kinda funny for that moment I was nervous about.

Also, I noticed that nowadways show like Jersey Boys (and I believe Chitty Chitty Bang Bang did to, post signs in the lobby warning about loud things such as gun shots and pyros.

As a theatregoer whose phobia is loud noises, I too like to be warned of any gun, pyro, or bomb noises. so I can see where JaredBway is coming from.

It wasn't on broadway, but I saw Shenandoah at Ford's theater last night. There were three gun shots in the show (One each from a revolver, sniper rifle and rifle). They sounded loud enough to wake the dead!!!

Boy - I can think of several classic plays where the ending would be RUINED if the audience knew there was going ot be a gun shot. I mean, the warning isposted oin the lobby, and all through the play you're thinking, "when is the gunshot going to happen?" Then, when it's OBVIOUSLY very close to the end of the play, the lead character walks offstage, very depressed... BANG!!!!! Gee - I didn't expect that to happen... oh wait... of course I did!

You might as well have signs saying:

HEDDA GABLER - warning - she kills herself at the end.
ALL MY SONS - warning - he kills himself at the end.

et cetera, et cetera...

The worst one I ever saw was Tommy, which had such loud gunplay at the top of the show (it was World War 2, remember) that I almost had to leave the theatre.

On the topic of shows with gunshots, I'm surprised no one said Les Mis. The barricade scenes were filled with gunshots, which can scare you the first time on's shot(especially if you're sitting right under the sound booth where the set the shots off from).

oy with the poodles already!

In this production, 'Lucy' is played in drag and flashes 'Polly' and the audience.

All that and full-blown countertenor, too, huh?

I hope that this gets recorded.
