Thumbs up to Chicago Wicked Understudies!

We took the kids to Wicked at the Oriental today. Kristy, Stacie and Telly were out. Dee Roscioli was on as Elphaba and Sarah Jane Everman was on as Glinda. They did not miss a beat and were funny, endearing and vocally powerful. Such talented kids!!!

I think Jeremy Kocal was on as Boq and he was enjoyable!

We had a nice time. This was the third time for the girls and the fourth Wicked experience my son.

The house was packed. (There were signers which was distracting, but a worthwhile benefit for some)

YAY! I was worried about how good the show would be if the some of the cast is out when I go see it in two weeks. (my first time seeing it actually)

Gene, Rondi and Kristoffer are solid. Where were your seats?

Sarah was great as Glinda! No worries.

Stacie doesn't seem to be in much, in fact if you were so inclunced to look on a tube site there is a "trailer" of the chicago cast... it was sarah and kristy listed as leads. Kinda sad really

I saw Kristy in for Anna in November and she was wonderful!

I have not seen Stacie, but Sarah is delightful. The kids said she sounded like Cheno.

That's good, I think I've gotten too used to Cheno and can't except anyone else as Glinda (she has a unique voice even when she talks).

Random question but Stand-bys go in before U/S's right? Why is there only an U/S for Glinda yet no Stand-by?

Are you referring to the 'unofficial trailer' that was made using boot videos? A video which was shot last fall when Kate Reinders and Ana Gasteyer were the leads? And I believe it was shot when Kate was out of the show for quite some time with a broken foot. May I ask what an illegal boot from last fall has to do with Stacie's current absences? I think the person meant that the leads in the video were Kristy and Sarah, not the show, so I don't see how that's sad, just fact.

Injuries and illnesses happen, and a few of the leading Wicked ladies have had prolonged absences due to one or the other.

Justchillin'- I wouldn't worry about Glinda. Stacie is wonderful, as are the understudies, you can't lose.
