Jonathan had at one point been performing tick, Tick... BOOM! as a one-man show, and there were several incarnations of it. I believe the different versions were pieced together after his death, resulting in the produced, three-actor version of his life.
It takes place on Jonathan's 30th birthday; he's upset about turning 30 and feeling as though he's done little with his life, and not really knowing what to do. He's working on a show called Superbia, which is in rehearsals at the time.
The cast recording is beautiful, and I highly recommend it. Raúl Esparza played Jon, Amy Spanger played Susan, his girlfriend, and Jerry Dixon played his best friend, Michael.
