Found the following piece in today's Broadway Briefing. Thought it was interesting, and worth a discussion. As someone who likes to pre-plan my trips to NY, and will casually have a slot or 2 open for rush or TKTS this isn't really for me. The following is part of the blub from the briefing, then is a like to the article from Bloomberg.
"On Broadway, Disney Takes Cue From Airlines to Sell More Tickets" by Bloomberg's Nikki Ekstein - "Enter stage right a new partnership between Disney Theatrical Productions and Volantio Inc., an Atlanta-based startup that helps airlines manage oversold flights and other logistical challenges by reaching out proactively to guests and rewarding them for flexibility. ... Opt in to notifications during your ticket purchase, and you may, for instance, receive a Volantio-powered offer to trade your mezzanine seats on a Saturday night for center orchestra on a Sunday matinee, free of charge".
