Ticket exchange at the box office

I need to exchange "How to Succeed" tickets I bought at the box office for another date. I called Jujamcyn theaters and the person told me I could possibly exchange them but would have to go to the theater to find out. It's quite a trip for me and I don't want to go there for nothing. Has anyone had any luck exchanging tickets bought at the box office ?

I have never had a problem exchanging dead tickets at the box office. I always make a point to get to box office when it opens. More often than not, I get a better seat than what I had started with. Mind you, I haven't tried doing an exchange at a show that is selling as well as How to Succeed. Good luck!

It's for the middle of May and they still have tickets available, so that's not a problem. I guess I'll go there and give it a try. I wish I could call them.

the only performances they're willing to 'trade' for are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday eves. I missed How to Succeed yesterday and still went to the boxoffice before the end. They stated that you need the tickets you bought in order to exchange for some later date.
They give a number at Telecharge to call. The day you call is the day you use the tickets, if others are available.

So, I went to the box office and they refused to exchange the tickets. Said that it says "no refunds or exchanges" on the tickets (true). I wish the Jujamcyn person told me that on the phone instead of making me go to the box office for nothing.

These things are often totally up to the discretion of the person at the box office. If you can (I understand it's a pain to get there), try again when someone different is working. Or call Jujamcyn again, tell them what happened, get the name of the person you spoke to, and go BACK to the box office with the name and the fact that they told you you could exchange.

I had to do this just recently for Book of Mormon. Telecharge did it over the phone with no problems or additional charges, and obviously, BoM is selling incredibly well.

I have had vearying experiences. For "Zero Hour," off Broadway, they would not let me exchange despite the ease with which they could have done it when I thought my boyfriend might miss a substantial portion due to a train delay. Fortunately, he missed only two minutes.

For "August: Osage County" they gave me my money back for four front row tickets right when the show was still new and a big fat hit, without even conducting an exchange - I explained I had already booked my new tickets and was believed. They did not seem thrilled, of course, but complied.

I was able to find someone else to go in place of people who could not make it, so I won't pursue it any further. But it seems that they could be more accomodating - it's not like they would not be able to sell those tickets.
