I got in line 7AM this past Sunday and was about two hundred people from the front. By 7:45 I was in the middle of the line! Got tickets. It was a glorious morning and the time flew by! I couldn't believe how fast it went!
The show opens tomorrow and if the reviews are good I am sure there are going to be longer lines earlier.
I too have been trying virtual line every day of the run and have had no luck at all!

It is supposed to rain tomorrow. I truly hope that opening is rained out. Hair is wonderful and deserves brilliant reviews.

An update on today.
I got tickets at the very last minute. This Public Theatre thing, man.. They are out there to try people's patience. I went back at 6:30, and waited around until a couple of minutes after 8pm to find out I got tickets.
I was #43 in the voucher number, and when I walked in, the theatre was already full. It seriously sucks for the people waiting in the stand by line, which were a good 200 people.
My friend and I didn't get to sit together, but I got to sit next to this couple who were in line since 6:30, which was cool, since I got a 6:30am seat. I'm glad I got to see this. It was a good experience (the show itself, that is, not the stuff leading to it).
Another update:
I talked to this lady on the subway last night, and she happened to see Hair the same night I did. She said that she waited on the stand by line at 5pm, and got in. She said that around 50 people got in after 8.

my friend got there at 9:30 on this past tuesday morning and did not get a ticket, however, we came back, and got in line at about 3:45 and got in when they gave tickets away that were not picked up. We got those tickets at 8...they started giving them away to the stand by line after they gave away to the voucher line, which is the first 50 people who did not get a ticket from the morning line!!! Confusing enough for you?! to sum it up get there at around 8! at the latest...
