Hi!
Has anyone taken notice on how early people are getting in line for the Saturday performances? Any help would be appreciated. :)
I went with a large group last Saturday and got there around 5:45. We were moderately far back, but had no problem getting tickets.
Personally, I wouldn't get there any later than 7:00 am. That's just pushing your luck.
A group of tween-y tourist-y types were sitting behind me & my bf at the movies tonight. They were talking about HAIR and getting free tickets. They decided they would meet at 12:30 pm in front of the Delacorte tomorrow. (To pick up their free tix at 1:00 pm, that is.)
My bf and I said nothing. We just looked at each other, shook our heads, and smiled.
:)

My friend picked up the last two tickets for yesterdays performance at 1:20pm.
I'd rather show up at 1pm and try my luck, than get there at 5am and wait 8 hours. I don't think I've even been outdoors for 8 hours straight before.

Wednesday, I asked the line manager what time he thought you could show up and get a seat. He seemed to believe that anytime before 9.30a, but of course couldn't guarantee this. Remember, the Delacorte is a rather large theater and if you want good seats... I got there at 5.30a and I and my partner were 5 and 6 in line.
I just happened to be walking by the around noon on thursday and decided to stand in line, not thinking I would get a ticket. Not only did I get my two tickets but everyone behind me also got tickets (in row V right in the center) not bad seats at all. So suck it 5am! Oh and Jonathan Groff is AWFUL! embarrassing....
I'll be in the city this coming week and really want to see the show!

I didn't think so... I thought the entire cast of Hair, including Mr. Groff, was delicious. Perhaps he's growing in the role. I saw Hair Wednesday night and I simply thought it a magical evening.
His performance at the "preview" concert on the FORBIDDEN SITE is awful. I'll wait till Hanke is in the show. I prefer him anyways - better voice.

I wonder if Mr. Groff has read any of the posts on Hair. When we write these, do we consider their feelings? Easy To Be Hard
P.S. I too am guilty of not always considering someone's feelings

not sure how long the link will last, but it's an interesting video about Hair
we did Cancellation line last Wed, got there around 6:30pm and waited about an hour and got seats, so did pretty much everyone out there. They can't guarantee seats together, but there were 5 of us and we all got seats together by luck. So if you don't wanna wait out there for hours on end you can always try Cancellation line later in the day and see that way...most days almost everyone is getting tickets. We got Row S center they were great seats could see everything. I'm not a huge Hair fan, but I enjoyed the show well enough. I thought Groff did fine and the cast was pretty talented.
Today, I got to the end of the line at around 10am. There were about 300 people in line already. Waited 3 hours, then the line started moving down slowly.. By the time my friend and I got to the box office, tickets were all out, but the last 50 people get vouchers for stand-by line priority, and I got one of the last few.
I have to go back at 6:30pm to see if I get tickets or not. I might not even know at 6:30. There's a chance I have to wait until 8pm to find out that I don't get tickets.
I swear, this **** better be good.
and I have NO luck on Virtual line neither! I will TRY again this Saturday!
If I go there on Sunday... I mean falling in line physically..what time should I go there? I really want to get a ticket bec. I am coming from Boston or else my trip will be wasted!

I've tried the virtual line like every good-weather day since July 22nd, and nothing. My friend has also been trying, and also nothing.
I found out that they only give out 50-100 seats through the Virtual Line.

I've tried the Virtual Line every day since previews began and haven't won. But I did the standby line last Thursday, and while I got there at 5:30, I think everyone got in who was on the standby line. I didn't get my ticket until 7:56, though.

verynewyorkcurious- You will get tickets.
I went yesterday at about 6:30 pm to try the standby line and it was very long and I didn't get in, but about half the line got in and all 100 people with vouchers got in before that. I've already seen it, so I wasn't too upset, I just thought I'd try my luck. It looks like it's getting harder to get cancellations and last night the woman working the line said she had never seen the cancellation line so long, so I'd suggest getting there at 5 p.m. or maybe earlier. No matter how you end up getting tickets, it's worth it.
Is the cancellation line on a 1st come/1st serve basis too? Soo you fall in line in the morning to get tickets~then if they ran out -youll get a voucher (for cancellation)- you fall in line later that day again for the cancellations?

AntonEgo, I certainly hope so.
Jaystarr, only the first 50 people who didn't get tix, get the vouchers for stand-by priority.
Hope ya get in tonight, CURIOUS!
"Phone home"....
I got in line 7AM this past Sunday and was about two hundred people from the front. By 7:45 I was in the middle of the line! Got tickets. It was a glorious morning and the time flew by! I couldn't believe how fast it went!
The show opens tomorrow and if the reviews are good I am sure there are going to be longer lines earlier.
I too have been trying virtual line every day of the run and have had no luck at all!
