TicketMaster Resell Question

Ok I just totally f'ed up. Went to buy tickets for Moulin Rogue on August 17 and somehow bought two tix for July 27! Row C, a very costly mistake. TM is closed now (I'm in California) and the Live Chat window keeps crashing.

I've never tried to resell but when I look at my tickets it tells me this performance (Saturday, July 27 at 2PM) is not currently available for resell. It's not sold out but very close. TM says it might become available for resell and I should check back often.

Yikes. What a mess. For those who have resold tickets, do they eventually open up the show times?

Really kicking myself as I'm a bit Type-A and normally check and triple check these kinds of big purchases.

Try not to panic...call them in the morning, they might let you switch the tickets, so you dont have to worry about re-sale.

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

I agree with dramamama611. Try not to panic and call them as soon as they open again. If they refuse, I’d call the box office directly and see if they can help. I did something similar to you last year when I accidentally bought a ticket to see Hamilton in Chicago for the wrong date. Like you I panicked. Ticketmaster said they couldn’t help me because the theater prohibited it, but when I called Broadway in Chicago, they were able to request the change for me to Tocketmaster and it all worked out fine.

The trick is to call their Arts line, which is the number that would likely be listed on Moulin's website, or if you click Live Chat while the order is up on your screen. If you get the concert/sports line, they will not care.

Call the box office and they’ll get it situated with Ticketmaster.

I had an issue with Frozen tickets that Ticketmaster wouldn’t help me with. The box office/Disney agreed to move my tickets to a new date but after a huge mess up on Ticketmaster’s part (they charged my card for a ticket without permission), Disney issued a full refund for the tickets I had.

I also find the Ticketmaster Twitter DM person really helpful. Whatever I ask for they normally do so I’m sure if you sent them a message wanting to move your tickets to a new date they’ll do it for you. They will say no to moving if you bought premium seats because they wouldn’t let me move my Hadestown premium seat to another day.

If you can’t get to the box office or find a number, call Ticketmaster and keep asking for a supervisor until you get someone willing the help you. They will moan and groan and say that can’t do anything but it isn’t true. They have to go through the box office, and it takes them a couple of days (Telecharge does it instantly), but they can do it.

Allow yourself a good hour to be on the phone, but I have switched days more than once. Their customer service is his abysmal, and of course they would rather you hold and do resale, so that they make double fees. Don’t fall for it. Be polite but insistent and climb the chain. Don’t take no for an answer on an honest mistake.
