I have tickets for Spider-Man and Ghost on July 14th, but I've been keeping up with Broadway grosses and neither show seems to be doing well. I'm not too worried about Spider-Man because I'm sure the producers are gonna try to keep it open for as long as humanely possible, like as long as they don't lose too much money every week. But, Ghost, I'm not so sure about.
Anyway, the point of the post. has anyone ever gotten a refund from a show that closed before the performance you had tickets for happened? Do you know how long it takes for a refund after closing notices are posted? I want my money back (if Ghost closes)as soon as possible so that I can get the best seats to another show as soon as possible.
Also, if people have any suggestions for a replacement show. Thank You

Posted: 5/16/12 at 6:15pmI really hope so. I'm a huge Spider-Man fan. Not necessarily of the musical but I LOVE the superhero. And I've been wanting to see Ghost for months now and I've had my New York trip planned since December. I just want to be prepared for the worst.

Once closing is announced, the refunds usually happen pretty quickly...less than a week, but usually withing 48 hours.
HOWEVER, until closing IS announced, they won't give refunds.
As someone else said, I don't think you have anything to truly worry about.

If the shows close, you won't have any problem getting a refund or exchange.
I had tickets to the original closing night for How to Succeed on July 1st. When they announced the show was closing they didn't mention anything about refunds so I was worried, but the next day the show's Twitter posted a link to the refund policy. I emailed the address on the page and requested a refund, but in the meantime they had already emailed me offering me a refund or the chance to exchange my tickets to another performance.
They responded to my email the same day and the money was back in my account within 48 hours. Pretty painless, except for the fact that I was sad about not being able to see the show again.

Posted: 5/16/12 at 10:19pmI mean the original closing night for Nick Jonas's run, although let's be real--if they hadn't announced a July replacement for him as of a couple months prior, it was pretty obvious they were closing the show in July.
