Have tickets for the matinee of My Fair Lady the day of the Tony's. Most of the leads are nominated. Do we have any hope of seeing the nominated cast, or should we be resigned to seeing understudies?

It is incredibly rare for the cast to not perform on Tony Day.

I went to shows on the night before the Tonys last year, and had a lot of call outs. I think Groban, Steele, and Benton were out of Comet, and David Hyde Pierce was out of Dolly. Probably depends on how they are feeling, and whether doing the show may compromise their ability to be in good form for the Tonys. But they are supposed to be there, yes.

I saw Sara B in Waitress last year the day of the Tony's. She ran out, said a quick hello and thank you, and then jumped in her waiting car to rush over. You SHOULD be ok :)

Yes, really. Are there exceptions, sure, but they are not the norm. The Tonys is more of a do it yourself kinda awards.
