Tickets for next March: Wait for discounts or purchase now?

Hello!

For my March trip, I plan on purchasing tickets to the following shows:

• Miss Saigon
• Groundhog's Day
• The Glass Menagerie
• Sunset Boulevard
• War Paint
• Come From Away

Should I hold off on purchasing these tickets to wait for potential discount codes or buy tickets now due to demand? I am unfamiliar with planning these trips due to it being my first one.

All those shows will have discounts, probably.

I'm the opposite. Trips to NY for us are special and they don't happen often enough. So when we go, I don't want to take the chance and wait/worry about maybe saving a few bucks but not getting great seats. Its more important to enjoy my holidays and have fantastic seats so we can enjoy all our shows. If I lived locally enough where I could attend broadway anytime, I'm sure my thought process would be different. We are coming to NY in May, and although I haven't bought any tickets yet.....I plan on it soon....

The allocation of premium seats is often ridiculous this far out, and what you can get at regular prices is just not worthwhile in my opinion. As long as the show is not going to be a guaranteed sellout like Hello, Dolly this season, I have found that it's generally easier to get better seats closer to the date you'd like to go and at better prices.

Hello, Dolly is on my list, but I definitely bought tickets to it as well as The Great Comet and Dear Evan Hansen. All three of those had the most "hype" in my opinion, so I decided to purchase those tickets.
