Posted: 11/11/06 at 11:01pmI hate reading reviews about this show cause it makes me so jealous. I really wanted to see this. Oh well. Yankee, did you happen to take a picture of the marquee? I'd really like to see it. Does anyone have the "View" performance on their comp and wouldnt mind sending it to me? Id like to see more of this show.

I saw this show last night.
I thought it was atrocious. A waste of time and money. Don't waste your money or your time...it is a giant piece of garbage.
I don't even feel constructive enough to write a little review. I don't have any thoughts on it at this point - only that it's awful.

Wait...you liked it?
I don't know if I have ever laughed harder in a theatre than last night.
The flashlight "stagehands ballet" is what really did it for me. I was laughing so hard. And then when each flashlight was clicked off one by one? HAHAHAAHA! I wasn't the only one laughing...

I enjoyed it only because I put it into the "so bad it's good" category. It was incredibly cheesy and the plot was terrible, but the band and performers were good. Still, I do give Twyla a lot of credit for even managing to come up with A plot out of his plotless anti-war anthems.
What did you think of God, in his "stage debut?"

Posted: 11/12/06 at 3:05pmI agree, Munk. It was one of the worst shows I have ever seen. It deserves its 28-performance fate.

Posted: 11/12/06 at 3:11pmI agree, Munk. The flashlight's in particular had me rolling in the aisles. Unfortunately, I didn't have an aisle seat...

My audience loved it. These people were hooting and whistling after every song. I've never seen such rapturous applause.
Granted half of them had their asses out of the Atkinson before the lights came up....

HAHAHA!! I don't have any f*@&ing clue WHAT that was about.
During the entire show, I had to refrain from screaming out: "Stop all of the goddamn bouncing!!"

They must have NO room backstage.
I got the Herman Mellville symbolism....I'm just wondering why there was a guy in a skeleton mask throwing confetti out of the half-moon.

I loved when they dumped stuffed animals on the stage. Then ignored them for 20 minutes, then swept them up. What the hell?
But the ultimate moment for me was when I was leaving the theatre, and two tourist women said "Well, that was better than THE LIGHT IN THE PIAZZA!"
I died a little.

Oh, Munk, I think I threw up a little in my mouth...that's the sickest thing I've heard in awhile.

Posted: 11/12/06 at 3:38pmOh...it's gonna close next weekend, no question. Even a bump in the box office can't be enough to save it. It's running on empty as it is...in every respect.
