How would one describe this cast recording? If you could relate it to one show, what would it be? I'm looking to possibly buy.

Ok, I was in your position and bought this CD w/o knowing anything about the show. I think the beauty of this is that is soo original and different that it's hard to compare with another CR. I would guess maybe maybe forbidden broadway meets urinetown or bat boy but even that feels wrong. If you are really a big musical fanatic it is a must. I had no idea that it was this hilarious and yet at the same time there were many parts that I thought were incredibly moving. I love 9 People's Favorite thing and I love the idea of how important musicals are and the philosophy of the show really did remind me how much I love theater and why I want to dedicate my life to it and Terrance McNally talks about his identical reaction in his linear notes. It's great...buy it buy it...you won't regret it

Leave it to TM to tout the superficial.
The first concerns of the characters of the boys in [title of show]--and they are boys---are, in no particular order, television, games, and masturbation.
