Ok, I always wondered a few things about this part of the announcement in Legally Blonde:
A) Is the announcement itself pre-recorded?
B) Do they have the same conductor everyday?
C) Do they get new conductors periodically..like cast members?
D) What would happen if they ever got a girl conductor..or would they just not hire one for the sake of the announcement?
I know these are random questions, but I was just thinking about it and got to wondering, any answers would be greatly appreciated.
Shows do get new conductors periodically, especially if they run over several seasons.
I'm sure that if a female were hired, a new bit would be added to accommodate her.
"Today's show is conducted by Georgia Stitt, who PS has the fiercest hair EVAR!"
So they didn't hire me to write their jokes. Oh well.
I once went and they did most of the announcement until they got the conductor bit and then I believe Amber Efe may have been the one who finished it with the new conductor's name and they still said the John Mayer line.
It is pre-recorded by Heather Hatch [the book writer]
The last time I saw the show it was pretty clear that they had someone jump in and say the name of the conducter due to the fact that the regular one wasn't there that performance.

It's Hach, honey.
That's an unfortunate, common misspelling of Ms. Hach's name, though.
They have pre records for James Sampliner (conductor) and Jason DeBord (associate conductor). The other pre record is shorter, and the stage manager voices over the "john mayer" part with the God mike.
