Todays Color Purple performance.

Saw The Color Purple where a crazy emotional roller coaster took place onstage and off.

Cynthia Erivo is pure dynamite and I want to hear her sing the entire American songbook. Also someone in the audience passed out and there was a major hubbub. And then 30 min later someone else was choking and they had to stop the show - the audience was yelling at each other - paramedics came etc. it was all very tense. Regardless, i think/hope everyone survived, and remarkably the show was still able to take us all on the journey it set out to.

This was Hudson's last show?

A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

Yeah, this was Jennifer Hudson's last show. I was wondering what happened to make the show stop, I was in the mezzanine and all they were telling us up there was to stay in our seats (which people were not doing and they had to find their seats in the dark after the show started back). Speaking of which, there was an awful lot of people going to the restroom during the show, and people were coming in almost a half hour late which I thought was incredibly annoying. Seriously, how hard is it to show up on time and not go to the bathroom during the show? This is not a movie theater.

The cast sang to her "That's what friends are for" which was really sweet and they were all crying. It was indeed a very emotional moment.

And while the energy of the audience was great. It was also from the very beginning one of the worst behaved audiences I have ever sat with. Phones on all the time. Those ushers had quite the workout. But I don't know what they expect when the theater itself has a big sign announcing their free wifi. Also; lots of mothers day celebrants and church groups. Lots of people that perhaps don't know how to comport themselves in a theater but are accustomed to talking back to their living room television.

I had a similar experience at On Your Feet yesterday. People were talking, singing along, eating chips, and there were phones galore. I took my mom for Mother's Day and I was livid that our experience was being interrupted by these inconsiderate individuals.

And there were nothing but big women in my row. Luckily I had what seemed like a aisle designated handicapped seat . The arm lifts.. so I was able to let my left cheek hang.. so that I had some relief from the big lady sitting next to me.

I don't know what this means. As you can see I haven't been on these boards for a very long time, so I'm unfamiliar with Dave19's posts.
