Hey all!
I went to see legally blonde today and i have to share something that happened which i (and mostly everyone else) felt was hysterical...
As Elle was demonstrating the bend and snap, her wig fell off so she asks paulette, "Paulette will you help me put my hair back on? LADIES AND GENTLEMEN THANK YOU FOR COMING OT LEGALLY BALD" It was a great, and funny cover up for what happened. One problem, "Bend and Snap" was just about to start so for most of the time Laura had her hands on her head for 90% of her bend and snaps. It was so funny.
I thought that was her real hair too so when i saw the wig fall off, i was shocked. The show was incredible and made me tear up(which is hard to do)
Just wondering--was anyone there for todays matinee and saw it?

I was there!
It was hysterical, but I've heard its happened before, and LBB has used that line, too.
It was handled beautifully, though.

I don't think audience really cared that she broke character.
Unless you're like really stupid, you would have known that Elle's hair doesn't fall off.

HA! That's golden. I loooove bloopers. I was joking with my sister last week after reading a "Wicked" bloopers thread that we have been cursed with perfect performances everytime we see a show.
However, it's odd that Elle's wig has come off more than once when she does her bend and snap. I mean, so much that they have a backup line in case it escapes? Shouldn't the costume department fix that?

Posted: 8/1/07 at 9:41pmHa, yeah my friends sitting on both sides of me were like oh my gosh is that supposed to happen? And since ive seen it on youtube i knew it wasn't supposed to happen but yeah. Oh that reminded me. I LOVE LOVE the announcement before the show started "And if we like find anything on youtube we will hunt you down!"

Becky said she was only doing today, so maybe Leslie was only out today. Don't quote me though.
Hate to say... I didn't like Becky. She was a better Elle, than Serena. Leslie will be seriously missed when she leaves.

Posted: 8/1/07 at 10:58pmI thinking breaking character is okay in this situation. It's a light-hearted comedy type thing, but if someone broke character in, say, Grey Gardens, I might think it's a little tacky.

Yeah she talked about the wig coming off the first time before it happended today again when tony awards were following her one day. Ya LBB is terrific anyways.
Does anybody know if tracy jai edwards will be spilting the role as serena this week since she is taking over when leslie leaves on august 12th??.

Posted: 8/1/07 at 11:12pmThat's a bummer about Leslie being out tomorrow. I'm a little surprised she's taking the week off considering she's only in the show for another week after this one, but maybe it was all planned a long time ago.

Haha I was there!! Right up front, it was crazy when it happened! I couldn't stop laughing, but there was no way to ignore it, she almost HAD to break character.
I loved the show soooo much!!

Posted: 8/2/07 at 2:42pmthats very ironic! i saw Laura Bell Bundy in Wicked when she was Kristens u/s and her wig fell off during the performance! it was actually at curtain call and LBB was taking her Glinda crown off to put it on Idina and she ended up riping her entire wig off....it was pricless!
