Tom Hewitt Can't Catch A Break
re: Tom Hewitt Can't Catch A Break#50
Posted: 9/29/05 at 6:47pmIt was love at first sight for me when I saw Tom in Dracula. My God was he gorgeous and very good in his part. There are many talented actors in the theater. Unfortunately, as in looking for any job, some people get better breaks than others. I am sure he will find the right vehicle and it will be a hit.

*sigh* It's "Ciao", swineygirl.
I've got to believe Mr Hewitt has something great ahead of him. He's an excellent actor, singer, and he looks fabulous in high heels. He's also one hell of a nice guy, and utterly professional. I wish him all the luck.

442namffug.....
Don't worry, I'm not getting in on this argument...LOL...I'm just shedding some knowledge...
You made a comment that:
"Just because I (and clearly A HUGE MAJORITY OF THE AMERICAN PUBLIC) find Dracula and Dr Dolittle about as entertaining or original as a piece of crap, doesn't mean you should waste your time trying to "prove me wrong"."
...I just wanted to tell you and anyone else who may get the opportunity to see or hear either the original La Jolla Premier of Dracula, or the new German production in St. Gallen, they are both highly entertaining and more original than "a piece of crap", lol. The show was dramatically changed and reconstructed, and could barely mirror either of the other two versions when it opened in New York. Sometimes changes don't exactly turn a show in to what it truely could be, but no matter the outcome, a lot of work went into them both from the unknowing creative team, producer, crew, performers, and everyone else who was involved. Tom Hewitt is a fabulous performer who I greatly respect. Those who may have had the unfortunate pleasure of seeing the saddening sight that made up the national tour of Doctor Dolittle would actually realize that Tom Hewitt MADE that show as enjoyable as it possibly could be. It isn't the best piece of theatre, but I do have to admit that it was kind of fun. The original version of it was significatly different and unfortunatly, more often than not, shows are majorly tampered with and rewritten before they open in the states...Why that is, who knows?!? Any ways, you have your opinions, I have my opinions, heck we all have our own opinions, but after about the 500th post on your original comments, I got bored...So I figured I would type a little blurb about something that kind of indirectly had something to do with this long and argumentative convo...So if this post seems totally pointless, then please disregard and move on lol...IT'S LATE!
....I however am confident and looking extremely forward to the day that Tom Hewitt makes his way back on to stage in a big hit; He's fabulous, and what a nice guy....Shouldn't be too long *keeps fingers crossed*!
....P.S....What's wrong with working at Starbucks, lol?!?
Anyhoo...TOOTLES!

Posted: 10/1/05 at 11:28pmI have heard that Tommy Tune has been brought into the show and is looking into revamping and replacing the lead...with other assistants coming in to review and director Doctor the show...with the possibility of a regional production or touring again. I think this is happening now....or very soon...
