Hmmmmmmm...... with Robert Wilson directing, this sounds like something that would play a limited engagement at BAM, than ever head to Broadway (if it ever comes to New York at all) .......
From Playbill:
"The Tom Waits-William S. Burroughs musical The Black Rider: The Casting of the Magic Bullets opens April 26 at Los Angeles' Ahmanson Theater starring Broadway's Matt McGrath.
Robert Wilson stages the work which began previews April 22 for a run through June 11, returning to California since its Aug. 2004 debut at San Francisco's American Conservatory Theater.
The Black Rider: The Casting of the Magic Bullets is a musical theatre piece featuring music and lyrics by Tom Waits, text from the late William S. Burroughs and musical arrangements by Greg Cohen and Waits. The work re-imagines a 19th century folk tale about a clerk who makes a Faustian pact with the devil, accepting magic bullets in order to win the hand of his beloved in a shooting contest."
