oh god i hope so. did anyone see the last nat'l tour of tommy? it was at least 4 years ago now ... it was SO. BAD. probably the worst designed/choreographed show i've ever seen - most women in the show were wearing those long 'duster' sweaters and Mrs. walker was wearing these black patent leather platform shoes .. it was RIDICULOUS.
HAHA...I know someone who always talks about Travis. That show is so tough on the kid Tommy, who has to thrash around on stage during that pinball scene. INTENSE.

I just saw an absolutely amazing performance of Tommy this past March in the Philadelphia area. I would not be at all unhappy if it toured with some of the members of this local cast.
Travis used to play Tommy on Broadway. Where he is now in life- I haven't a clue. I went to elementry school with him. I knew him up to 6th grade but since I am now in college, I have no clue where he has gone. He had such a voice on him- what a talented kid. And his younger sister was soo cute. I used to help out in her grade.
Speaking of young Tommy in Tommy...I want to play Tommy at 10 someday. Seriously, I can stand the fact I'm being rocked around. It's a really cool role, too.
Has anyone heard Buddy Smith sing on the original cast recording?
the funny thing is i got so excited about that tour i bought tickets (in advance) to 2 nights in a row ... never doing that again. yeah the lights were fine. the costumes were especially awful, as was the choreography (they did some sort of strange hand motion for 'deaf dumb and blind kid,' every time it was said .. oh man..) if it's going to be that tour again, forget it, i'd rather not have one.
Where did this "buzz" come from? I don't think I've ever heard anything about Tommy touring again. The original staging was fantastic. I'm not sure I want to see a watered-down version. It'd probably ruin it for me.
