Tony Awards in Times Square?

Has anyone ever watched the Tonys in Times Square? Is it really crowded? What time do you think would be good to get there?

I've done it a couple times - the crowd is fairly big, but nothing too overwhelming. I'd recommend getting there fairly early - perhaps around five to five thirty, maybe at the latest - six, because seats tend to fill up fairly fast.

What's cool about it is you get to watch the not televised awards being given out.

CBC is airing the awards, but I will be in the City and plan to sit in Times Square to watch... at least until 9:30- 10 I have done it before and it is fun. People tend to come and go, so be vigilante for seats.

I'm going down there again this year, too. It's really fun if the night's warm. Take some dinner and just hang out. And seeing the untelevised awards is awesome, too.
