We can't have a thread about the prestigious RIEDEL AWARDS without mentioning THE LITTLE WHOREHOUSE GOES PUBLIC, easily one of the worst scores I've ever heard. I do like "Picture Show" though, is that bad?

"Some people can thrive and bloom living life in a living room, that's perfect for some people of one hundred and five. But I at least gotta try, when I think of all the sights that I gotta see, all the places I gotta play, all the things that I gotta be at"

FANTASIA for Best Replacement!

"Winning a Tony this year is like winning Best Attendance in third grade: no one will care but the winner and their mom."
-Kad

"I have also met him in person, and I find him to be quite funny actually. Arrogant and often misinformed, but still funny."
-bjh2114 (on Michael Riedel)

Best Director

Michael Mayer, Spring Awakening
Michael Greif, Grey Gardens* (Not that I know much about direction...)
Jerry Mitchell, Legally Blonde
Harold Prince, LoveMusik

Best Costume Design

Grey Gardens
Mary Poppins
Legally Blonde* (No costumes have WOWed me this season, but LB's came close!)
LoveMusik

Best Set Design

Grey Gardens
Pirate Queen
Legally Blonde* (They were colorful enough)

Best Book

Grey Gardens (With out a doubt!)
Spring Awakening

Grey Gardens
Curtains* (I'm always a sucker for more traditional broadway sounding songs)
Legally Blonde

Best Choreography

The Pirate Queen

A little known fact is that in the original screenplay, Pan's Labyrinth was Pan's FLAByrinth. Hmmmmmmm...glad they changed it.

I love how people actually think Groff is getting a nomination.

Merrily We Roll Along
Seussical
We Take the Town
I Remember Mama

Alright, I think the flop thing is losing steam.

Most people have hit the nail on the head with their predictions. I think we'll see a plethora of nods for Spring Awakening and Grey Gardens, less so for LoveMusik and Curtains and some scattered ones for Legally Blonde an Poppins.

GREY GARDENS
LOVEMUSIK
SPRING AWAKENING

but LOVEMUSIK could easily be changed with LEGALLY BLONDE, though i think PIRATE QUEEN deserves a nomination more than BLONDE
