FINGER FOODS:

Horace Greens (School of Rock)
* Green crudités like edamame, broccoli, cucumber, blanched asparagus, celery, blanched green beans. green pepper, etc
* Green Goddess Dip or Minty Pea Dip

Tomato & Basil Sardine Paté (Noises Off)
Ingredients
* ½ lb sardines canned in olive oil (drained)
* 1/3 lb sun-dried tomatoes in oil (drained and chopped)
* handful fresh basil leaves, (approx. 25 leaves)
* 1/3 lb garlic and herb soft cheese (alouette or boursin are common brands)
* zest of ¼ lemon
* squeeze of lemon juice
* salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
Put all ingredients into a food processor. Blend 'til you reach desired texture - either chunky or smooth depending on preference. Taste and adjust salt as necessary. Transfer to a small bowl, cover and chill in fridge till ready to eat. Serve with toasted pita triangles, crispbread or crackers.

Windsor Red Cheese and Crackers (King Charles III)

Monte Cristo Sliders (Long Day’s Journey…, Hamilton, The Humans)
Ingredients
* King’s Hawaiian Honey Wheat 12 Pack Dinner Rolls
* Mayonnaise
* Your favorite raspberry or blackberry jam
* 6 slices Swiss Cheese
* Several slices deli Honey Ham (Hamilton) and Turkey (The Humans)
* 4 large eggs
* ½ cup milk
* 1 tsp salt
* ½ tsp pepper
* ¼ tsp ground nutmeg
* 4 Tbs butter (plus more as needed)
Directions
Separate the tops from the bottoms of each King’s Hawaiian roll. When building the sandwiches, invert each top/bottom of the roll so that the crusts face the inside of the sandwich (this will allow the egg mixture to absorb better).
Spread mayo on bottom halves (the crust side, which should be facing up), then layer with Swiss cheese, ham, turkey and cheese again. (You may need to cut the cheese and meats to fit the size of the rolls).
Spread some jam over the top cheese slices, then place the remaining inverted roll slices on top. Lightly press the sandwiches down, or place a weighted sheet pan on top of the sandwiches for a few minutes to flatten them a bit.
In a shallow dish, whisk together eggs, milk, salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Dip each sandwich in the egg mixture,
turning to coat well.
In a large skillet, melt butter over medium-low heat. When butter is foamy, add the sliders, and cook,
turning once, until golden brown on both sides, 6 to 8 minutes total. Cook in batches, adding more butter as needed.
Sliders can be kept warm, covered with a kitchen towel, in a low oven. Dust with confectioners' sugar just before serving.
NOTE: Sliders can also be dipped in the egg mixture, then baked on a baking sheet sprayed with butter-flavored cooking spray. Bake at 450º F. for 6 minutes. Flip and bake for an additional 5 minutes, or until sliders are golden brown.

Blackbird- water bottles, garbage, vending machine food, chocolate

Click Here To Toggle Spoiler Content

They share the water bottle. The garbage bin is overflowing and they later throw it all over the stage. There's a vending machine on stage. She (at 12 years old) wanted him to bring her back chocolate when he left the hotel.

It's not a terribly inspiring play.

A Reverend John Kale salad for the Crucible?

For Blackbird, perhaps dye some turkey roast? (You asked for savory)

I appoligise for any spelling mistakes. I may be on my mobile. Clumsy fingers and small little touchscreen keys don't mixx. I try to spellcheck, but I may miss something.

Jollof Rice is a typical East African (Liberian) dish. According to Wikipedia: “Liberian cuisine has been influenced by contact, trade and colonization from the United States, especially foods from the American South (Southern food), interwoven with traditional West African foods.

Jollof Rice with Chicken
(Eclipsed Rice served 'en Crucible'Tony Party Theme Food 2016

Ingredients
• 8 skinless, boneless chicken thighs, cut into large pieces
• 3 tbsp vegetable or olive oil
• 1 large onion, halved and sliced
• 2 tbsp tomato paste
• 1 chicken stock cube
• 2.5 cups water
• 1 lb basmati rice
• 1 red pepper, deseeded and thickly sliced
• 1 yellow pepper, deseeded and thickly sliced
• 3.5 oz okra, halved*
• bunch cilantro, roughly chopped, to serve
* If okra isn’t available to you, you can substitute with frozen peas and carrots, string beans or other veggies you like.

For ginger and chili base
• 2 garlic cloves
• 2 x 14 oz cans plum tomatoes
• thumb-size piece fresh root ginger
• 1 scotch bonnet chili, deseeded (if scotch bonnets are too hot for your tastes, you can substitute with some ground or cayenne flakes, or one or two chopped, fresh jalapeños)

Directions
1. Season the chicken with salt and pepper. Heat 2 tbsp of the oil in a large deep frying pan over a high heat then add the meat and fry for about 5 mins till golden all over. Lift out of the pan onto a plate.
2. Add the rest of the oil to the pan and fry the onions until soft but not golden, about 5 mins.
3. While the onions cook, make the ginger and chili base. Put the garlic, tomatoes, ginger and chili into a food processor or blender and whizz till smooth.
4. Add the tomato paste to the onions, fry for another 2 mins then add the ginger and chili mix. Crumble in the stock cube, stir then pour in 2.5 cups boiling water. Add the chicken, bring to the boil then simmer for 15 mins.
5. Put the rice into a large bowl, cover with cold water and use your hands to wash the grains. Tip the water out then repeat twice until the water runs clear. (Don’t skip this step! It removes some of the starch that will make your rice “gloggy” when you cook it.)
6. Add the rice to the pan, turn the heat down to a simmer then cover with foil and a lid (so no steam can escape) and cook for 20 mins.
7. Take the lid off (the rice won’t be cooked yet) then scatter the peppers and okra over the rice. Re-cover and cook for 10 mins until the veg is softened and the rice tender. Just before serving, mix the veg through and scatter over cilantro.

OPTIONAL TIP: This dish is traditionally cooked over a wood fire. To get a similar “smokey” flavor, allow the rice to burn a little on the bottom of the pan (after you have mixed in the veg). WATCH CAREFULLY and use your nose to let you know when the rice has burnt “just enough” (it will have an appetizing smokey smell - not an acrid scorched smell). Turn off the heat and cover the pan to allow the smokey flavor to permeate the dish. DO NOT stir the rice any longer! Carefully transfer it to a serving dish, leaving the burnt bits in the pan. Once transferred, you can garnish with the cilantro.

To kill two birds with one stone, serve this dish in a covered casserole (in effect, a crucible) and call it “Eclipsed Rice served "en Crucible”

Stay away from accepting assistance from bad cooks. You don't want them serving up something miserable or something rotten, making your party into a disaster.

I know a recipe for meat pies -- I'm sure you'll all lovett. There are poultry pies that are good, but the nursery rhyme's blackbird pie is extreme, because the birds are supposed to fly out singing. Some bright man suggested rock cornish game hens instead. If you're still looking for dessert pies, there's always a peach pie -- made from George-a peaches, of course.

My ethnic allegiance is to gefilte fish, but I don't like to fiddle around making it from scratch -- I tried it once, and that was enough. You have to be fully committed to mess around with the fish heads.

Hamburrgers are essential because that gets both antagonists from you-know-what show into one item. You'll need something Southern for The Color Purple, but a lot of Southern dishes have pork, and won't go too well with the Fiddler on the Roof dishes. You certainly want to avoid dueling cultures.

One thing I hate about big parties is that you're on your feet all day. Maybe you can find a waitress to help you serve. Otherwise, when the party is over, you won't be able to do much more except to shuffle along to bed.

I hope the New York and New Jersey boys and girls who attend have a great time. Sounds like you have a real fun home.

Having just seen Eclipsed, you have the choice of the rice Disgruntled offers the other wives and the cassava that is constantly being cooked in both acts. There are sweet and savory preparations for both.
