Some thoughts I had watching this:
This ran on Broadway for 581 performances. Unthinkable now. Did anyone see it?
Apparently, the Tony Awards show devoted nearly ten minutes of programming time to each new musical back in the day.
Also, apparently, back in the day you could sing the lyric "give head" on network television. Ah, the Seventies!

Had never heard of this... Wikipedia says 325 total performances, Broadway and off-Broadway combined. Still-- wouldn't happen today.
(10 min devoted to each new musical would be awesome! Cut the paid performances from shows that have been running for 10+ years.)
I got the number from IMBD, which states the show ran from October '71 to July '72, so the 325 performances makes more sense.
