I remember seeing somewhere that if you get nominated for an Oscar and don't win, you get this enormous expensive gift basket. Is there anything similar to that for the Tony Award also-rans?

They're aren't just for the losers, they are for all the nominees. I guess in some ways it could be seen as a consolation prize. Anyway, of course a Tony Awards bag won't be in anyway comparable to an Oscar one, which is worth over 200k in swag. And I'm not entirely sure if they still give them out at the Tonys. 

In 2006, the Tony Awards Gift bag was worth 35k, although this seems to have been given out to presenters, not nominees

In 2012, that number was down to $1400
