I find that Rebecca Luker always sounds like she is straining when she sings and I don't think she has any stage presence, either.

She may not be the strongest actor on Broadway, but I don't think I've ever heard her hit a bad or sour note. I actually included her on my best list.

Actually, I almost agree with you about Luker. She never sounds like she's straining; but she sure as hell looks like she's straining. I hate to watch her. Veins popping out of her head and neck; and her voice, for me, is just ordinary.

4) Hugh Jackman (such an amazing performance in BFO)
5) Lea Salonga (a gorgeous voice!)

1) Wayne Cilento (he just annoys me in Chorus Line)
2) Sarah Brightman (a painful voice...)
3) Amanda Holden (ruined TMM in London)

1- anthony rapp/daphne rubin vega- well any OBC of RENT
2- mary bond davis
3- gregory haines

5- stockard channing

less favorite- meaning i'd pray for an understudy the day i see the show ( IN NO ORDER)

All right, I can understand how Bernadette Peters can be a performer you either love or hate, but some of these other choices...Cheno, Judy Kuhn, Rebecca Luker--these people are obviously very talented. Have you heard Kuhn's "Colors of the Wind" in the Pocohantas film, or seen Rebecca Luker in The Music Man? And come on, although we all envy her almost ridiculous level of success, you can't deny that Kristin Chenowith is one of the most gifted musical theater performers of her generation.

Exactly! Why are people posting Kristin Chenoweth on their dislike list? And no, you may not say "We are all entitled to our own opinions" - that's a crappy reply. I want to know why people really dislike her.

I nearly had an anurism when I saw some put Audra on their HATE list.
I won't judge, but I would like to know why. That women is BRILLIANT.

She is my # 1.
AUDRA MCDONALD
The rest (in no particular order)
Norbert Leo Butz
Kristin Chenoweth - the woman is definately growing in her acting ability. good for her.
Tonya Pinkins - Absolutely terrifyingly wonderous in Caroline..
Angela Lansbury - GAH. No words.
Honorable mention: Brian Stokes Mitchell. The man has a voice of a god, but I have second guesses about his acting abilities.
But the man may be the reason why I do Musical Theatre.

Least:
Adam Pascal - Has NO stage presence, And if you blink, you'll miss him "act". He comes from the "vocal growl = emotion" school of acting.
Amy Spanger for being inconsistent. Horrible on Tick.. but wonderous in KMK.
Winokur - What? Did anyone listen to her voice before casting her? It is the most obnoxious grating thing I have heard. But at least she's got spunk.
Darius de Haas - He has a strange vibrato, which is totally a personal thing that is between me and God.
Anythony Crivello - just not a fan.
Personally, I think I have too much bloom.
