Hi! I'm going to New York in a couple of weeks and I've already purchased tickets to the following shows: The Color Purple, Sweeney Todd and The Light in the Piazza.

My questions are: Does LaChanze do matinees? Would I miss anything from a Center/Left Orchestra seat in LITP? Is there a way to find out if Aaron Lazar and Katie Clarke would be out for a certain performance? Would I still have a good view from a Lt/Center mezzanine seat in Sweeney Todd?

That's all. I'd like to thank you all in advance. :)

ok, Lachanze does matinees as far as i know, the theatre of Sweeney Todd is very small, so there are not bad seats. The same about Piazza, and Katie and Aaron do matinees, if you get to see Katie's replacement Jennifer Huges, she is amazing.

Thanks a lot! :) I'm really excited since this is my first time to watch something on Broadway.

fyi LaChanze was out of the Wed matinee a few weeks back when my friends went to see TCP- not sure if that was a one time thing, or a regular thing though.

Thanks for the replies. We've also purchased tickets for The Drowsy Chaperone and Wicked. Will I miss a lot since our seats for Wicked are numbered 31 and 33 in the orchestra section, meaning it's in the leftmost side?

Well if you are in rows AA- N than honestly yes you will miss parts of the scenery and some dancers in the big ensemble numbers but there still very good seats.

I was in limited view for Wicked in April (Row BB-Seat 6, arguably the worst seat in the house). Even that seat had a great view, so you will love anything better than that.
