Tournament of Roses and Broadway

Sitting here as usual every New Years’s Day watching the greatest, most beautiful, and most colorful parade of the year. I always see lots of companies advertising their product - airlines, cruise lines, restaurants, and countless food products. So, I wondered if Broadway or any of its musicals on tour have ever advertised in the form of a parade float at the Tournament of Roses Parade?

I doubt it. It would be a considerable expense to build a float plus it is on the other coast and Im not sure the investment would yield that many more tickets. Im not sure what viewership is for this, but I suspect its less than the Macys Thanksgiving parade plus I suspect the demographics are different and are probably either less Broadway-friendly or have less access to NYC. Shows that are selling well dont need the publicity and shows that are hurting cant afford the expense most likely.

Tournament of Roses and Broadway

At 53 years of age, Ive never seen the Tournament of Roses Parade in my entire life. That alone should speak for itself as I always watched the Macys Thanksgiving Day Parade and the Jerry Lewis Telethons.

Tournament of Roses and Broadway

^ ^ ^ As a complete opposite, and at almost 60 years old (birthday is in July), Ive watched the Tournament of Roses parade as far back as I can remember. I rarely ever watch the Macys Turkey Day Parade anymore, mostly as background noise as Im doing something else, and havent seen the telethon in decades.
