For everyone who complains that the transatlantic theatre journey is pretty one-way right now, I found this article.

http://www.officiallondontheatre.co.uk/news/backstage-pass/features/article/item337505/11-broadway-hits-to-see-in-the-west-end/

I knew there were a lot of US originated shows over there but didn't know it was this many.

The title is a little misleading. I think the Bacharach show began life at NYTW - which isn't B'way - but still there's a lot of American shows over there.

I hope their American accents have got better!

"For everyone who complains that the transatlantic theatre journey is pretty one-way right now"

Who's saying that?

Some posters on here and the other board.

Some media writers. For example - and if I remember rightly - Isherwood, in the NYTimes when writing about the chances of HAND TO GOD winning the Best Play over CURIOUS INCIDENT, championed it as an American play.

What's "the other board"? BWW West End? Theatre Forums? ATC?

The "other board" I referred was ATC. Sorry, I've seen enough posts on here referring to "the other board" and thought that you all would know which one I meant. My mistake.

"..just to be clear nobody thinks its one way." Nobody? I wouldn't put my house on that if I were you.

The thing is, besides being an utter toad of a human being, Riedel usually has the least knowledge of the topic in the room. He doesn't usually understand the content or approach of a show, and is always completely and unfailingly socially ignorant, which makes it really infuriating when Susan can't get a word in edgewise. A definitive mansplainer; it's always painful when he has female guests. I watch the show sporadically when I really want to see a guest, because it's the only theatre talkshow we have, but it would be so much better without this hateful clown in a dadcoat. Well, right now, 7 Broadway transfers are playing in the West End.
