I'm going to NYC on the weekend of august 6, I plan on seeing 1 or 2 broadway shows, one will be spring awakening, i still torn about the other ones i could see legally blonde, or Rent (with adam and anthony) or Xanadu, if you guys could help me out that would be great.

Also do you think I should get tickets to spring awakening now or wait for student rush or rush tickets in general?

Passing up RENT with that cast would just be stupid.

And I, for one, have NEVER been to NYC without seeing Wicked... re: Trip to NYC

Also... if Fantasia is still in The Color Purple then you MUST go see it! She is beyond incredible.

I personally am dying to see Grey Gardens too because who knows how long it will last...

See Patti in Gypsy. Technically not Broadway, but if the production doesn't transfer you may never get the chance again.

^ As is Gypsy, so...

I would say see A Chorus Line for sure. It's a Broadway classic.

I am a firm believer in serendipity- all the random pieces coming together in one wonderful moment, when suddenly you see what their purpose was all along.

Of the shows that you listed it is truly going to depend on the mood that you are in. Xanadu is just a plain good time at a show. I laughed so hard. Legally blonde is (IMO) great. The dancing is unbelievable. Both are shows that you should see.
