boddy and polly-crazy for you
Wilbur and Harold are NOT triple threats. And neither is Peter Allen.
I would think Harold Hill is becasue you need charm and charisma and good singing voice. I guess it depends on the direction and choreography if they need to dance well. But, I tend to think that Harold will have to be very talented in all departments.
I would consider Peter Allen a HUGE Triple Threat. He has to be incredibly skilled in acting, singing, and dancing, no? I haven't seen the show, but from what I've seen, he has to be really great in all areas.
I agree. Peter Allen is definitly a triple threat.
im not sure what i think about peter allen. i liked high jackmans performance and perhaps i need to see it agian. i think he movies very well but i dont know how he would handle if you threw him in a chorus line.

define triple threat.. do we mean "Gwen Verdon" triple threat -- strong in all three areas, of "Melania Griffith" triple threat -- HORRIBLE in all three areas.
I would say Harold Hill is, because he has to dance a lot in Marian the Librarian, and, although he talks a lot of his songs, he still must be able to sing. Also,
Basically all of Ms Verdon's roles, especially Lola in "Damn Yankees". THen there's Adelaide in "Guys and Dolls" and Ulla in "The Producers".
Edit: Reno Sweeney & Billy Crocker in "Anything Goes" - doesn't she need to dance, or am I wrong?
Eileen in Wonderful Town. I would say Ruth also, but Rosalind Russell said herself she only had 4 notes in her voice.
I think Pippin's dancing is up to the choreographer.
Mr. Jackman was awarded the ASTAIRE award this year as BEST MALE DANCER. I would say that he danced quite well. Consequently DONNA MURPHY was named BEST FEMALE DANCER...also fabulous.

Please note Hugh at the chorus line with the Rockettes at Radio City Music Hall for the TONYs ONE NIGHT ONLY opening number

yes, Hugh was BORN to do high kicks.
also observe Mitchel David Federan, young peter in the show, getting down when the casts join in.

I think there is too much emphasis on dancing, and maybe on the singing, too, to be considered true triple threats - I hardly find actors being lavishly praised for their acting mettle! Perhaps when the so-called triple threats do non-musical and highly dramatic roles, will I find that they truly deserve the rare accolade.

yes.. I agree with you. A voice and an ability to dance ae fine, but the acting sells the role.

i disagree about ulla- she's more of a double threat- the acting leg is not all that prevalent
