Broadway audiences at the original production of Triumph Of Love were greeted by the sight of a huge gold cloth covering the set. During the music that opens the show, the cloth was slowly lifted into the flies revealing a stylistic topiary maze garden."

Sounds cool, yes. In reality, the set was butt-ugly. All I remember is kelly green astro-turf. Ick!

I saw a regional production that sounds about the same. it wasn't a very pretty set.

I dont think I've ever seen a good design for this show. One theatre I used to work with was considering it for their season, so I did a little research. It's amazing how otherwise talented designers really botch when it comes to this one.
