I enjoyed Movin Out'. It's just good depending on what you're into. I really like Billy Joel songs, so that is probably why.

This is an easy one - spend the money on a ticket to Caroline or Change - it will be a much better investment in not only your sense of well being, being entertained and Musicality, but also an investment in your soul.
"I don't really get the ending, all i can go with is when after several months,Judith saw Pat sang, and later she kissed him on the toilet, after that the story back to where Pat went down from the stage after he'd sung, and he went to the italian lady.I just don't get it,what Judith exatcly meant when he kissed Pat that she had seen, and did Pat end up together with The Italian Lady? Please help me,thank u very much!"
Quote from someone on IMDB in reference to a movie he/she didn't understand. Such grammar!

I've seen both and I'm gonna have to say Mamma Mia!- but I would rather go see Hairspray than either of them, lol. -Penny

Neither. And if you absolutely HAVE to see one, Movin' Out.

Hairspray would be my number one choice...also, if the revival of Fiddler is still there that was EXCELLENT. You could also see BROOKLYN which is gonna be off the hook
Idina: Somehow I got myself to the stage, came out at the end of the show, and I had some kind of closure.
Some guy: You looked great!
Idina: Thanks...I WAS SO HIGH! 8/21/05

My teens loved Hairspray. Afterwards, we actually had a long discussion about segregation and race relations since this was an era as remote to them as WWII and The Great Depression was to their parents.

well if you are a hugh billy joel fan like I am then go for Movin' Out. It's great. If you're into his music and love dancing then this is your show. Plus an unbelievable singer, Michael Cavanaugh!
"[My son]'s really into my music, but one day we were listening to Billy [Joel] in the car and he said, 'Daddy, I think Billy's songs are a little better than yours." (Michael Cavanaugh)

They're both fun shows. Not great, just fun, especially if you're a fan of Abba or Billy Joel. I'm a fan of both, but I think Mamma Mia is a better production.
If it matters, Mamma Mia is usually sold out, therefore no discounts, but Movin Out is usually on discounts at broadwaybox.com or at the tkts booth.
I also agree with some of the above posters: Hairspray is a great show, one of the best ever, a must see! And a fun show too, with a leason in it as well.

Movin's Out is much better because its creators actually put more than 2 minutes of thought into now they would incorporate the pre-existing songs into the score. And the dancing is spectacular.

Darling, why don't you skip both--"Mama Mia" is good, I guess...if you're drunk....and "Movin Out" is perfect for a matinee, at student rush price, when all of the other musicals are on strike, and you've just come back from a blood transfusion and need a good hour and a half to rest.
I think "Caroline" is still open?
