Trying to figure out a movie title

So recently i've been having memories of a movie I saw years ago, but i can't remember the title and I can only remember bits and pieces of the plot and its driving me crazy.


So, It's pretty much a horror film, i think from the 80s and its about some people who either get stuck in a video game or a video game that becomes sentient and starts killing people From what i remember it had really terrible effects and also seems to remember it ahving 1 sequel (but that could just be my memory)

NIGHTMARES synopsis:

"Four horror tales based on urban legends. The first story 'Terror in Topanga', has a smoking addict (Cristina Raines) going out to buy some cigarettes despite there being a killer in the neighborhood.
