It's ok at this particular performance. In fact, it's encouraged -- you can even see the show for free!

I think it's ok to tweet during the shows. But only if it's before 9pm.

Can I tweet while filming a bootleg on my webcam?

ETA- I first read the title as "Appalling Events". I like my version better.

This is one of the most desperate ploys in marketing I've encountered -- more than stunt-casting. Way to sacrifice the storytelling.

"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

While I agree this is quite odd, it is only for one performance, and there is a designated section. I would be concerned about the noises people's phones make from the texting, tweeting and unexpected phone calls.

I am definitely not talented enough to tweet, facebook and pay attention to a show all at the same time.
