Two Versions of RENT Movie Soundtrack?

I looked at both the Circuit City web site and the Best Buy web site. Both lists a RENT Soundtrack at $27.99 to be released on 9/27/05 (the two-disc version) AND a RENT Soundtrack (OST not an OBC, etc.) scheduled for a 11/8/05 release and priced at $13.99 and $17.99 respectively. Could this be a one-disc version of the soundtrack?

Maybe they are going to have a highlights version? The "Best Of: Highlights from the Original Soundtrack"... for people who can't or maybe don't want to spend the full $28 for the entire CD.

don't worry your pretty lil head about it...best thing to do really is just to buy both! haha one to tide you over until you can get the real one.

Hi WiCkEDrOcKS,

The Tune Ups, Voice Mails, Contact, We're Okay, Christmas Bells, Happy New Year A and B and several other bits and pieces that were sung and led into actual songs in the original stage version of RENT have all been cut for the movie version.

Does anyone else think it is going to be awkward to have La Vie Boheme B on disc 2? Why split up a song??? It doesn't make sense.

La Vie Boheme B is basically a whole other song on the original cast album. It's not really being split.
