Posted: 8/24/09 at 2:06amI think they should have picked a better show than that one, I could barely seat through it while watching it on MTV for FREE! I'd love to have the chance to see more shows on TV, then I'd go see only the good ones...

I don't think the MTV broadcast was intended to "save" the BROADWAY show, just the SHOW in general. I think it successfully allowed for the producers to recoup their investors' $$$$ on the road, but we don't have the touring numbers...(do we?).
As for the choice of show, I don't think there was or is another Broadway show that would benefit from airing on MTV. LEGALLY BLONDE was ideal for the MTV demographic.

"Everyone is basing whether the MTV broadcast was helpful, or not, by speculation/on poor inductive generalisations ("My friend saw the the broadcast and wanted to see the show" - ok but you can't conclude this is true for the majority of other people who saw the broadcast), and then you even put a number on the success (4 months!?)."
Yeah. Naturally, the show attracted some people to come see it, but in no way did it establish a huge following as seen with shows such as Rent and Wicked.
Any hype from the live broadcast died down once the reality show aired on MTV. The reality show helped sustain Legally Blonde on Broadway, but not for too long.
