Fun fact: He started off in theater. Not in New York but in North Carolina and LA.

RIP Mr. Griffith. I just watched A Face in the Crowd a few weeks ago. Phenomenal movie - phenomenal performance. It would make a good musical (w/Hugh Jackman).

Thats a shame. I always enjoyed watching my box sets of The Andy Griffith Show. I will have to watch them more often now that he is no longer with us. And I never knew that he lived in Dare County, NC until I read that article. That's funny, becuase I live not 30 minutes from Dare County.

They all call me a troll. Ok, call me a troll. If I stand on my own, so be it.

Will the lights be lowered on Broadway? I think his theatrical roots warrant the recognition, and two Tony nominations are not exactly the same as finding your stage legs in the chorus (which I'm hardly putting down). I think the triumphs in three mediums, one clearly taking the focus, only point to the theater as a place where talent is found and nurtured. There would be no Griffith career trajectory without DESTRY.
