How competitive is admission? (Straight theatre, not MT.)
oh jon boy! thanks for the sweet plug!! i will not get into this messy discussion. i will only say that, as a graduate who is off in the world- it doesn't matter where you go to college. it matters how you are trained and how seriously you take your training and apply yourself. anyone can fail at any institution. people drop out/get kicked out of all of the top schools... that shouldn't matter to you at all if you are serious about your craft. if you want to become an artist- you will. from experience, UArts is a sensational program that, because i dedicated myself to it 100%, delivered for me. so go out there and find where that is for YOU- and don't be concerned about what that is for others.
i wish you all best of luck in what you do.
and if you're curious about Uarts- or any school- the only way to know the truth is to go there and check it out. they'll let you sit in on classes- i can't think of any university that would deny that. and then you can see first hand and make your own decisions.
take care.

I'm at UArts now as a freshman, and there is nothing about the school or the program that I don't love. Some fo the stuiff is hard, and they're kicking my ass. But if my ass wasn't getting kicked, I would wonder why I was even paying to go to school. All of the acting teachers, voice teachers, dance teachers, and everything are just fantastic from my experience!
