I've read many of the almost universally poor reviews of this show. (There were one or two that were positive, but most were negative) and I was struck by one thing I read in several. There was a significant amount of Uma's "lack of chemistry" with her husband and others. But isn't that EXACTLY how the scheming and conniving Robin Wright played (notice past tense) Clair Underwood as Kevin Spacey's wife on House of Cards? Theirs it seemed was a marriage of convenience and ambition, not of love and/or lust. The chemistry between them only existed in the context of politics. Given that TPW was written by the same author, is it not possible that the lack of so-called chemistry was a deliberate acting/directing choice?
By the way, while I haven't seen the show as yet I have several friends who have seen it and enjoyed it, though it's clear that you won't enjoy it much if you're a Trumpster.
