I was talking to a friend, and not being part of Equity and never working on a Broadway show, I wouldn't really know the answer to this: If a lead actor of a show misses and an understudy goes on, is their pay any different when they get their check? Do they get docked for missing a performance? I said I didn't think so, but I don't know. Just wondering.

No, just like most jobs, they get sick days and vacations days.

The understudy, however, gets a little extra each time they perform.

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.
