Posted: 12/31/04 at 10:51amMy camp does 7 musicals every summer, and there's a chance they might do Snoopy! If I'm in it, I'm definitely going to audition for Peppermint Patty. Yay!

Rathnait62, I too was cast as Sally in a community theatre production of Snoopy, but the director felt it was unfair that PP had 2 solo songs and Sally had none, so he rewrote that part of the script so I could sing Poor Sweet Baby to Linus! It was the best of both worlds, because I think Sally's part is more fun than PP's.
Sorry about the thread-jack, broadwayalto01!

Depends on what you need the song for, broadwayalto.
One of my favorites that may fit your bill is "Chanson" from THE BAKER'S WIFE. You can find a copy in the Steven Schwartz Songbook, and even though Teri Ralston (who sang it originally) is a high soprano, for some reason the arrangement of "Chanson" in that particular book is transposed into an extremely low key.

Posted: 1/1/05 at 10:13amInvestigate the Ben Bagley "Revisited" series of albums which feature obscure or cut songs from Broadway shows by everyone from Rodgers and Hart, Cole Porter and Noel Coward to Kander and Ebb, Leonard Bernstein and Kenward Elmslie. They should be available on CD and are performed by a glittering array of stars such as Barbara Cook, Chita Rivera, Elaine Stritch, Kaye Ballard...even Katherine Hepburn and Gloria Swanson! You are bound to find some real treasures.
