re: Up and Coming Unknowns

What about composers?

Scott Alan...
"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

I've said it about 5000 times before, but Cheyenne Jackson...all he needs is to originate a role and he'll be a huge star.

re: Up and Coming Unknowns

Well, he's already been on Broadway, but nobody knows who he is, so I'll say Scott Hunt. *points to avatar* Fabulous actor, haunting singing voice, sweet guy, and cute as a button. He's also a writer, and writes his own songs and music. He's SO AMAZINGLY TALENTED, but he gets no credit.

Since I'm bad (and that's how it goes with me), I'm gonna do some shameless advertising. All you New Yorkers can see him in Subway Train at the Fringe Festival. He will play the role of 'Hunt'.

For more information on the show go to

re: Up and Coming Unknowns

Hey Delphine, this thread is good for Fringe pimping!

https://forum.broadwayworld.com/readmessage.cfm?thread=240382

Probably the only place made to shill!

As for up and coming unknowns, I'd have to say Caren Lyn Manuel, who is incredible and will probably start making more of a name for herself the first time she goes on in Brooklyn. Serge Kushnier's another.

I am surprised that John Barrowman isn't more well known by now...

I hope something becomes of:

Kristin Chenoweth
Idina Menzel
Brian Stokes Mitchell
Nathan Lane
Donna Murphy
Bernadette Peters
and who could forget Deborah Cox

re: Up and Coming Unknowns

It's a shame Sasha will not be back in 'bare' come September. She is an amazing talent!
There are some people in the world who say that writing stories, or composing music or dancing sparkly dances is easy for them. Nothing interferes with their ability to create. While I celebrate their creative freedom, a little part of me just wants to punch those motherf*ckers in the teeth...[tos]

re: Up and Coming Unknowns

so before i talked about this girl justine ciarrocchi who is brillian, well i found out that she has another sister goin to Northwestern for theatre who is just as good. Carly Ciarrocchi i hear is amazing. she directs, and acts, and sings. She did an amazing performance recently as the vamp in godspell, and just creates amazing performances.

re: Up and Coming Unknowns

As far as composers go, I am a total shill for David Kirshenbaum.

Who?

I second Deven May. Hopefully if Bat Boy comes to B'way, he can star in it. Although he might be a bit sick of the role by now.

re: Up and Coming Unknowns

Deven May gets no where NEAR the credit he deserves......

side note -- Jessica is SUCH a lucky girl.
