We are coming to NYC the 2nd weekend in november. I purchased tickets for Billy Elliot and hope that we got ok seats. They are front mezz. right side sect. 1 row b seats 1-4? Also we were debating about going to either see In The Heights or Next to Normal. Which do people recommend. I had thought about The Adams Family but couldn't find any discounts. One last question...we have been to NYC several times and have done all the Times Square, Empire, Statue of Liberty kinda stuff so we were looking for something different that we could do. We are in our late 20's. Thanks in advance for all the help! :)
It really depends on what kind of shows you prefer. ITH is light, basic themes with basic song and dance woven withing the story. N2N tells a contemporary and frightening story, that will move you.
For me, I wouldn't think twice: I'd see N2N.
Your seats should be great for BE.
As far as things to do? So much, but I'd reccommend the Guggenheim (depending on the exhibit) and the MOMA.

I sat in your seat one row up, in the first row, and had an absolutely awesome view. You'll love those seats.
And, having seen Heights and next to normal, I'd have to agree with dramamama that n2n is a better show and way more affecting, but Heights is a real crowd-pleaser. However, you are already seeing a show that, to me, is a crowd-pleasing type of show in Billy Elliot, so n2n would be a nice companion show. I did that in the summer of '09 and was extremely happy with my day of Billy and n2n.

Having seen both N2N and ITH several times, they're both wonderful. I tend to prefer ITH because it is a more "happy" show and always puts me in a good mood. N2N is a roller coaster but the music in both is great! I'd go with ITH.
Billy Elliot is one of those shows that it does not really matter where you sit. I was in the last row of the mezzanine off the far right and I could still see pretty much everything besides a small part of the set. I have not seen Next to Normal, but I have seen In the Heights. I would definitely recommend In the Heights. It is an incredible show.

I've seen N2N and In the Heights. I really enjoyed In the Heights but I walked out and immediately forgot about it. On the other hand, N2N will absolutely blow you away. I walked out and immediately wanted to see it again. I'd go with N2N every time!
I've seen next to normal and In The Heights and I recommend next to normal. It's phenomenal and should not be missed.
