That's my kind of vacation. I do that in the summer to the same extent, and then shorter versions throughout the year.

I'll be seeing 5 shows between the 25 & 27th of December:

Billy Elliot
Re-Write
Boeing, Boeing
RoadShow
(Still debating on last choice)

Of course the above is possible since many shows have a matinee on FRIDAY to make up for NO show on Xmas day.

I'm thinking of either:
What's That Smell
or
All My Sons

My first choice is to see Prayer for My Enemy extended...which I why I refuse to fill in my last spot. (Although I realize the chances of the extention are quite slim.)

Have a FABULOUS time! You are seeing some amazing things!

Your list looks great! If you haven't seen August: Osage County then I would recommend that. Have a great trip!

Saw AOC last December! Absolutely fantastic!

I have been going to NYC every december for 4 years now, and I always see an unnecessary amount of shows. I think im a bit crazy.

Last year, I did it in april too, so come tony season, I had seen nearly EVERYTHING nominated! The only show I hadnt seen that was nominated was Passing Strange re: NYC Schedule Dec 9-14

I look forward to going again in April, for pass 2 at broadway, and once again knowing all the nominated shows! Ive already seen 9 to 5 too, so one less show to see!!!

How do I afford it all??
Slavas Snowshow ?????
Equus, 31.50, Box Office Rush
Billy Elliot ???????
All My Sons, 26.50, 10 AM Box Office Rush
Speed the Plow, 26.50, Rush 2hr b4.
Fuezabruta $25, Rush 2 hr b4.
Hairspray, $25 Lotto 3 hr b4.
Liza, $25 rush.
WINTUK, ?????
Pal Joey, $20 Hip Tix
Shrek- Comp

Sooo its not that expensive afterall!!!

Now THAT'S what I call a vacation! Honestly, all new shows in one greatly planned vacation. Only other shows are 13 and White christmas, both ok, but not as good as some of the other shows on that list.

I would cut Fuezabruta and add 13

thanks jag-

i considered white christmas, i just couldnt fit it in.

I saw the world premiere production of 13 when Center Theatre Group first did it in Los Angeles, at the Mark Taper Forum. I sat directly in front of Jason Robert Brown during the final preview... rather exciting! Anyways, I did enjoy the show then, and feel no need in seeing it again.

Im sad I missed To Be or not To Be, as well as A Tale of Two Cities. re: NYC Schedule Dec 9-14 se la vie.

EDIT: I also CANT replace Fuezabruta with 13. The fuezabruta performance is at 1030 PM. Thats how I can fit it in. Updated On: 12/7/08 at 06:39 PM

I would say cut Wintuk to see something else, but you're seeing it on Thurs mat, so really it's your only option. It's not your typical Cirque du Soleil if that's what you're expecting.

For Billy Elliot, get the rear mezz seats for 41.50, they are great!

thanks feline! We'll see if i can get anything cheaper, but thats a good thing to know!

Adam- There is a special place in my heart for the utter magnificance that is Cirque du Soliel. I have no expectations for this show, therefore will prob. enjoy it either way. I have seen a fare share of Cirque (KA, O, Le Reve, Kooza, Kalidiscape) and have found something great about every one. And if I can get cheap tickets, then the experience will be worth it!

I really enjoyed White Christmas.

I would also suggest buying a rush ticket to The Seagull. It's amazing.

Oh, you're from TO too lightguy?

Did you see Black Watch here in TO this summer? if not, I highly recommend it and they have a mat at 3pm on Fridays (and still enough time to make your night show).

($20 rush 1 hour before show though show up maybe 30-45 min before on weekdays, though mat might be easier).

yah, I just got back from NY and saw pretty much everything as well (13, All my sons, speed the plow, equus, the seagull, man for all seasons, shrek, billy elliot (though buy your $41.50 tickets FAST cause there is NO deal), Pal joey, streamers, prayer for the enemy, wig out, black watch, and spring awakening and in the heights again).

I worry that you're counting too much on rush/lotto, especially since you (seem to have) every show slot booked up: ie- what happens if you don't win Hairspray lotto Sat mat, do you have any other time you could try it? Or say you win, so you'll see Hairspray at a matinee and *then* get on line for Liza rush tickets- aren't people getting on line at something like 1pm/2pm in the afternoon for Liza rush, will getting on line after a matinee be too late? Etc.

Or like with Billy Elliot- unless you know people who can get you a comp or something, the $41.50 rear mezz rows G-J tix *are* the cheapest option out there, and they're already sold out for Dec 9-14 according to telecharge (I was just trying it out searching for one ticket).

Some of the rushes will probably be no problem, of course, but for a schedule that's so planned out I would personally be buying a couple of these shows ahead of time. But, if you get it all done this is a pretty amazing schedule!

Thanks for your concern Anakela... I have never bought a full price ticket for a show in NYC... rushing seems to always work out. Maybe I'm just lucky, but I usually am pretty good at finding cheap tickets.

If i dont win the Lotto, or get RUSH tix, then I usually am pretty successful at finding that person going into the theatre who has an extra ticket (because their daughter is sick) and is willing to sell it to me for next to nothing(generally because im a student). I saw South Pacific last april sitting 5th row center for $25 bucks. I also saw Spring Awakening in the 1st row Mezz. for free, as well as many others.... Seems to work out, in any city I am seeing theatre!
