First off, I just discovered this site - so great to chat with others about Broadway!
I just used telecharge for the first time and feel completely taken advantage of. I ordered tickets for Phantom of the Opera and went with what they presented as the "Best Seats Available." Call me foolish, but the 2 minute time clock pressured me into feeling I should take advantage.
Now, upon further research, these are not the best seats (Right Orchestra Row B, Seats 12-14). There are some mezzanine seats which are much better. Their policy is no exchanges. Do I have to just chalk this up to live and learn or is there any possible way to get those mezzanine seats?

Sorry, but you will have to "chalk this up to live and learn". Next time you should check out Playbill.com, TheaterMania or BroadwayBox because I'm sure you also paid more for those tickets by getting them from telecharge. POTO has had discounted tickets for quite some time.

Wow! I had to come back and say that Telecharge is awesome! I sent them a short email complaining about the situation and saying that I would never use them again. They called me almost immediately and are exchanging the seats for me! Obviously this is an exception since I had not used them before.
I am so excited to be seeing Phantom again (I've seen it 5 times, but it will be DH's first) and with great seats!!! Thanks telecharge!
You are lucky that POTO is only at 69.5%. If it was selling better, they would not feel any obligation to make the change. I'm happy for you that you were able to get them to change your seats. Enjoy!
Just remember people, "best seats available" isn't always the case. Theaters sometimes release more tickets as the date of the production gets closer. Also, I think the website considers "orchestra" seats in general, no matter where they are, to be better than "mezzanine" seats, which may not always be the case, but that is how the website works. Just remember that for next time, especially for a highly discounted show like Phantom of the Opera, and don't buy on impulse. You got lucky.
