Urinetown - Prequel and Sequel?

Does anyone know if this is still happening? I just finished doing an excellent production of Urinetown, the musical and informed some cast members of this. But I haven't heard much about it recently.

Anyone have any info?

Yes, the prequel is going to be called 'WATER' and the sequel will be called 'PROCESSING PLANT'.

Actually, the prequel has had a few readings. It's called Yeast Nation. It's a prequel only in the sense that it takes place long before the action of Urinetown, and deals with some of the same concerns. But the show is set at the dawn of time, and the characters are actually yeast cells. And no, I am not making this up.
Begin at the beginning and go on till you come to the end: then stop.

Yes, its very funny. It was supposed to get a production at ACT in California this year with John Carraffa directing it. That was of course before all the law suits and now Kotis and Hollman despise him.

I think a musical set in the Stink Years would be really funny, it could have sorta teh same tone as Cabaret. Very Weimer Republic!

Ah, I figured Caraffa had something to do with the delay. Wait? Caraffa directing? Not Rando?

yeah! I know weird, but on his web site in the upcoming news section it said that he was directing and choreographing Yeast Nation and now it's been removed.

I don't believe a word this guy says anymore and I know for a fact that the Urinetown creators are pissed off!

He and Rando have really hurt the show!

Well, it's good to know that the creators don't like them as much as almost everyone else. I just finished a production of this and we had to be so careful that it didn't copy the original production - it got pretty ridiculous. Of course, we were in a more intimate venue - so staging had to be different anyway.

I remember hearing about the reading for Yeast Nation.
Didn't every character have the same first name?

Wow, that sounds so bizarre and wonderful. And sweet picture of primordial goo on that link, too.

Very cool. Glad you enjoyed our production. We were sad to see it end. Hopefully, we can revive it in another venue.

Hey, they could use the physical production from TARZAN when it closes! Just a little goo here and there and you're done!

re: Urinetown - Prequel and Sequel?

The concept of the show was a little hard to get. But as I think about it, I think it's hilarious. Can't wait for this to get done...someday. I guess we will have to wait....

Are you sure that's not questionable?

In that case, however; it is no wonder, you are so relentless! (Did you like my correct punctuation in my transition word of 'however,' notice the comma and semi-colon. Also, in these parenthesis, I correctly put the comma inside the quotations on the word 'however.' I just thought I would highlight these things for you!)
