Usnavi: when?
Usnavi: when?#1
Posted: 12/25/08 at 12:48amDoes anyone know the exact date Lin Manuel Miranda is leaving IN THE HEIGHTS? I must see it before he leaves.
re: Usnavi: when?#2
Posted: 12/25/08 at 12:52amFebruary. No one knows the exact date.
The choice may have been mistaken, The choosing was not... "Every day has the potential to be the greatest day of your life." - Lin-Manuel Miranda

re: Usnavi: when?#4
Posted: 12/25/08 at 1:37amIt better not be February 1st, cause my daughter and I have Kids Night Ticket for the 3rd. I'll be ticked if Lin's not there and she'll be ticked if Robin De Jesus isn't.

While I agree with this, I can also understand why people would want Lin to be in the show on the day they're watching.
I mean I'm coming down from Canada, and I really REALLY do want to see Lin (and cast) because it really is my only ONE chance to [possibly] meet him at the stage door and thank him. (Because...well I want to thank him for pretty much making my year, this year =P).
But for those who live IN NYC or have money enough to travel down there often/watch the show several times and stuff, it should be fine if they get other cast members filling in, because you've got another chance to see/stage-door with Lin or [insert whomever you want to see/meet].
I'm not that fortunate, so I really just want to make my one "Broadway Day" completely memorable, and to me, that consists of a day watching Lin-Manuel's musical with Lin IN it.
And of course original or not, I'll DEFINITELY be seeing the tour if they ever come to Canada!
There'd be no Lin of course, but the show is still gonna be great! =)
So...yeah, I see what you mean: People should not be "angry" because that's just not fair: If he's gotta go, he's gotta go, and if you MUST see him, secure tickets for an earlier date/Make better plans. But I can understand wanting to see THE creator/writer/star of the show, if its the first (and like in my case, only) time you get to see it on Broadway.
...
Plus, he makes an adorable Usnavi. xD

I doubt it because there doing a show on Monday the 16th that week, it wouldn't make sense to leave in the middle of the week.
re: Usnavi: when?#9
Posted: 12/25/08 at 12:30pmMonday the 16th would be the first show of the following week, not the last show of the previous week- weeks end on Sundays.

Posted: 12/25/08 at 3:08pmSorry, I by week I meant the last show of a 8 performance period. They're doing a show that Monday.

<< Source? That is the date going around.

I believe that was the date he gave during Seth's "Chatterbox"-- Was also posted on ATC a few times (by someone that worked for/with the production)
Also, I went to the box office to buy a ticket, and they told me that is the date they heard as well.
Could be dead wrong, but I think thats going to be the date.
Would also be a year from the Bway preview, I believe, so kind of fitting in that way---- didnt it start previews on Valentine's (or right around that date) ?
re: Usnavi: when?#15
Posted: 1/9/09 at 6:28pmYeah, it started on the 14th. I as well think it will be the 15th but I'm not getting a ticket just yet.
re: Usnavi: when?#16
Posted: 1/9/09 at 11:51pmI called the box office and they told me they were 100 percent sure his last show was 7pm on February 15th. I know its not the most reliable source but they seemed pretty sure.

Posted: 1/10/09 at 12:04amIt's funny how many people know for certain when it is but refuse to confirm in order to selfishly boost their own chances at winning the lottery.

i mean, it is going to be publically announced so i dont see how keeping it a secret would affect lotto chances...
that being said, it is kind of silly to ask on these threads because no one who knows is actually going to tell considering that it hasnt been announced yet.
I am anxious though, i mean it is almost february

Neither do I :) But some people are crazy that way. And if it's going to be publicly announced, then why not just say it? Because people want to feel important. It's silly.

Posted: 1/10/09 at 12:34ami would assume its out of respect to lin, because he probably wanted to make sure his friends and family got tickets and would be there before it sells out (since im sure that it will) or at least get good seats and since he hasnt announced it himself yet, then there probably is a reason.

Well, I'm sure as the writer and star of the show, he should have no problem getting tickets for people, I mean, that's why premium/house seats get released the day of the show. There are almost always seats available that he can purchase or have set aside for those he really wants there.
I just hope no one is out there deluding themselves into thinking that Lin "really wants them there" because they found out a little early. :)

no idea when he leaves for good, but he was out last night (1.10). I report this because friends of mine saw the show, came back and RAVED about how amazing Lin Manuel Miranda is- and only later noticed that the "lead guy" was actually an u/s.
which makes me think Lin's replacement will keep the show going strong.

As reported on the front page,
https://www.broadwayworld.com/article/RIALTO_CHATTER_Miranda_To_Exit_HEIGHTS_215_20090112
His last performance should be the 15th at 7pm. Which makes me oh so happy since that's the night I have a ticket for. I never thought I'd be so happy to trust rumors/people on here.
